You can stroll around an area, about a 20-minute walk from Kamo no Sato, where Coptis quinquefolia grows wild in profusion. The gregariousness can be seen on the north side of half-shaded wet ground where mosses spread over the forest floor of cedar and cypress trees. Coptis quinquefolia starts to bloom on around February 4 and is in full bloom from around February 10 to March 5.
