 Mt. Otaki

Mt. Otaki is a 247-meter tall slightly elevated mountain located at the southwest of the Kusaka River regulating reservoir known as Killifish Pond. There is a sign of the starting point of a trail up the mountain in Hidaka Village Comprehensive Sports Park, and azaleas and cherry trees grow wild at the open space directly below the summit. When you slightly descend from the space to the north side, rocky areas appear, enabling you to see a panoramic view of the plain of the Kamo district. The mountain is said to have been founded by En no Gyoja, founder of the Shugendo sect, and many practitioners of the sect are said to have once trained on the many huge and unusual shaped towering rocks.
