Jodaiji Temple and Seigenji Temple are among the three outstanding gardens in Tosa, and are designated as a place of scenic beauty by Kochi Prefecture along with Chikurinji Temple in Kochi City. With a big gingko tree at the heart of the precinct, the Jodaiji Temple garden displays the colorful beauty throughout the seasons. The temple is a temple of the Shingon sect constructed in the Nanbokucho Period (1336-1392), and many temple treasures, paintings, and calligraphic works can be seen at the treasure house.
