清泷寺是四国灵场第三十五番札所，由行基菩萨于723年开山建寺，据传此后弘法大师到此修炼时用金刚杖敲击岩石，清水喷涌而出，所以命名为“清泷寺”。这里的本尊为药师如来，造型庄重典雅，寺院内高达15米的药师如来像内部中空，可供人“胎内巡游”。
